By this I mean IF you have any virgin regrowth, these will bleach out your virgin hair too.
#OOPS COLOR REMOVER TARGET PLUS#
Plus IF the formula of color that’s in your hair IS permanent, Color Oops or Color Fix or any remover from the drugstore or Sally’s, WILL affect your natural color. ALL of these will be MUCH less damaging if at all, than ANYTHING you can get from the drugstore or Sally’s.
#OOPS COLOR REMOVER TARGET PROFESSIONAL#
If you’re in more of a hurry, there are REAL professional color removers for demi and semi permanent color AND of course for permanent hair color. Demi permanent color will take a tad longer but any shampoo with sulfates WILL fade hair color, it will wash the color right down the drain…literally. You’ll notice a greater amount of fading in a single wash with temporary or semi permanent color. You can use a clarifying shampoo every wash and that will strip out temporary, semi AND demi permanent color over time. You can use a clarifying shampoo or even dish soap, leave it on for about 30 minutes, and THAT will do the trick. You don’t need a “remover” for temporary or semi permanent color, period. So bottom line? The kind of remover required depends on the TYPE of hair color in your hair. Plus if a permanent color remover is used for ANY other type of hair color, it’s total overkill, as in completely unnecessary damage. If you try to use it to remove any OTHER type of hair color, it will not do what you want. Color Oops is to remove permanent color and permanent color ONLY. Not “bleach” per se, but ingredients that have the ability to LIFT (lift=lighten) the hair. ALL removers from the drugstore (like Color Oops) and Sally’s contain bleaching AGENTS. You do not need a remover to strip out temporary or semi permanent color. They are SPECIFIC to the FORMULA of color. Ok now that that’s said, a remover isn’t just a “color remover”. And EVERY formula of color has the potential to STAIN the hair. Permanent color does fade, albeit more slowly. REAL professional demi permanent color lasts up to 25 washes.

Demi permanent color lasts about 10-15 washes IF it’s a demi formula from the drugstore/Sally’s. Semi permanent color (from the drugstore or Sally’s at least) typically lasts 4-6 washes but some shades, like blue, last a lot longer than others, like pink/red. Temporary color of course, washes right out with a single shampoo. There are actually 4 types of color FORMULAS: temporary, semi permanent, demi permanent and permanent. The term “hair dye” is a very generic one.
